UNPKFC Supports Underprivileged Youth as UNPKFC Young Peace Ambassadors

The United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), led by Dr. Aphinita Chaichana, Global President of UNPKFC, together with the Council’s board members and staff, warmly welcomed a delegation of young “Khon” performers. This initiative aims to preserve and promote Thai cultural heritage by supporting these talented youth, who continue the legacy of Thai Khon, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The program ensures that this precious art form endures and is shared with global audiences with pride and dignity.

Khon is a performing art that integrates music, dance, and elaborate costumes, reflecting the beauty of Thai culture and the philosophical values of virtue, courage, and peace. Supporting these young performers allows them to learn and master this traditional art from an early age, instilling pride in their cultural roots and developing Thailand’s Soft Power on the global stage.

These youth are highly talented but face limited opportunities and resources. Continuous support is crucial to help them fully develop their skills and prepare to perform confidently at national and international platforms.

In recognition of their dedication, the young performers and their instructors invited Dr. Aphinita to serve as Patron, a role she gladly accepted. She also opened the UNPKFC office as a free training space, providing facilities and clean drinking water throughout the program to ensure uninterrupted practice and artistic development.

UNPKFC additionally contributed funds to support volunteer teachers and the youth themselves, offering encouragement and resources. The Council also supports free English language training through volunteer teachers and specialists, preparing these young talents to confidently step onto national, international, and global stages.

During the event, UNPKFC presented certificates appointing youth volunteers as UNPKFC Young Peace Ambassadors in the fields of culture and arts. The certificates were officially presented by Ms. Rangsima Thongpunchung, Counyry Director of UNPKFC Thailand.

The support for young Khon performers, the appointment of Young Peace Ambassadors, the contributions to volunteer teachers and youth, and the English language training reflect UNPKFC’s commitment to creating opportunities, fostering creativity, and empowering underprivileged youth to grow into future leaders in culture, arts, and peace.

Dr. Aphinita Chaichana stated: “Providing opportunities and creative spaces for youth plants seeds for a beautiful and sustainable future, nurturing both the preservation of Thai arts and the next generation of peace leaders.”

UNPKFC continues to advance cultural preservation alongside expanding opportunities, offering free training spaces, and supporting language skills, ensuring Thai youth grow confidently and shine on the international stage.
